FP 2177 is one of our most popular anti-slip coatings for paper and board products, providing a high coefficient of friction and several beneficial secondary qualities to treated substrates. Anti-slip 2177 is used for two main applications:

Our FP 2109 Flame retardant is a water-based impregnant compound designed for use with military grade fabrics – such as tent and marquee canvases. FP 2109 differs from other fabric flame retardants in the range of secondary benefits it applies to treated substrates.

FP 2072 is a water-based polymer bound impregnant used in the treatment of industrial and military tenting canvas. It imparts a variety of useful qualities to a range of textiles. A summary of features and application instructions can be found below.

FP 2067 is a water based crosslinker containing ammonium zirconium salts. Crosslinkers are used to link polymer chains and strengthen an adhesive bond. It is designed to be added press side to water based wet bond adhesives for laminating aluminium foil or metallised film to paper or cardboard.

In the wake of the Grenville Tower tragedy, flame retardant foams are receiving more publicity than ever. Our FP 1398 is a water based flame retardant polyurethane foam impregnant, with acoustic/thermal insulating properties. Foam impregnated with FP 1398 will meet the requirements UL94 V0 & 94-SV, BS 476 Part 5 and BS 476 Parts 6 and 7 Building Regulations Class “O”.

Anti-slip coatings are used on a wide range of products, including pallet liners and food drink paper tray mats (for use in flight catering). Our FP 2134 formulation is a water based dispersion, specifically designed to provide paper and board with a coating that has a very high coefficient of friction.

Our FP 2112 is a polymer bound water based flame retardant impregnant, for use in the manufacture of industrial and military canvas for tents and marquees. FP 2112 enhances water resistance, reduces permeability and increases physical strength, dimensional stability and durability.

On a slightly different note, we would like to take this opportunity to say a few words about one of our stalwarts of Formulated Polymers albeit not of the human kind but of the animal kind!

Anti-slip tray mats, such as those in the image below, are used in their millions every day by airlines throughout the world. They require an adhesive that is food safe, non-allergenic and anti-slip/skid proof to prevent food trays moving when an aircraft encounters turbulence. They need a high performance, cost effective anti-slip coating that will not slip at angles up to 45°.

There are many types of commercially available adhesive. Two of the most common are those that are solvent based and those that are water based. All things being equal, how do you make a decision between the two, when both are often reported to share the same performance characteristics? Here is a brief summary of the advantages and disadvantages of both types of adhesive, followed by our recommendations.
